The University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald would like to combine the Caspar David Friedrich anniversary in 2024 with the nationwide "Day of Printmaking" on 15 March 2024. In this context, the City of Greifswald has asked artists to submit prints relating to the life and work of the painter or to the contemporary reception of Friedrich and the issues raised by Romanticism. A jury selected a total of 250 works from the submissions. A digital catalog will be puplished.

Alongside the exhibition, works of well-known Chinese paper artists are displayed, as well as works of Chinese paper heritage, and promising paper artworks by students from the art universities of China. There are three exhibition areas: Traditional Paper Art Area, International Paper Art Area, and the 2021 IAPMA 35th Anniversary Touring Exhibition Area. The themes of the three exhibition areas may give faith and strength for the global fight against the epidemic.

Die 13. Ausgabe der Biennale sächsischer Druckgrafik zeigt Arbeiten von 78 Künstlerinnen und Künstlern – verwurzelt im sächsischen Raum –, ausgewählt von einer Fachjury.
In den druckgrafischen Werken begegnen den Betrachtenden die Störenfriede auf mannigfaltige Art und Weise. Einerseits werden konkret erzählerische Perspektiven sowie symbolhafte Darstellungen aufgezeigt, andererseits begegnen uns die Störenfriede auch als überzeugende Auseinandersetzung mit Ordnung beziehungsweise deren Störung auf abstrahierter formaler Ebene. Kennzeichnend ist die Fortsetzung des Trends hin zu großformatigen, farbigen Werken, nicht selten als Unikat.

Zum Wettbewerb der 13. Biennale hatten 127 Künstlerinnen und Künstler 342 Arbeiten eingereicht. Ausgewählt wurden Arbeiten von 78 Künstlerinnen und Künstlern. Für die 100 ausgewählten Grafiken galten der Jury die überzeugende grafische Form und die Prägnanz der künstlerischen Sprache als höchste Kriterien. Ihr gehörten Oliver Kossack, Leiter der künstlerischen Werkstätten an der HGB Leipzig, Benjamin Rux, Kustos der Gemälde- und Grafiksammlung des Lindenau-Museums Altenburg, die Kunsthistorikerin und Mitarbeiterin der Sächsischen Landesstelle für Museumswesen Jeannette Brabenetz, die Künstlerin und ehem. Professorin der HfBK Dresden Elke Hopfe, der Kustos für die Kunst der Moderne im Kupferstichkabinett Dresden Björn Egging, sowie Mathias Lindner, Direktor der Neuen Sächsischen Galerie in Chemnitz an.

Es erscheint der Katalog "Eine künstlerische Annäherung an die Widerstandsgruppe Weiße Rose",
gefördert durch das Amt für Kultur- und Denkmalschutz Dresden und die Kulturpaten Dresden.
Die Dresdner Künstlerin Heike Berl beschäftigt sich in ihren aktuellen Werken insbesondere mit der bildnerischen Darstellung von Natur und deren Symbolgehalt: Natur als ein Spiegel unseres Selbst. Ausgangspunkt des jüngsten Schaffens von Heike Berl ist die Rose im Kontext immer noch gegenwärtiger wie aktueller Zeitgeschichte: die Münchner Widerstandsgruppe “Weiße Rose” um die Geschwister Scholl oder die in Dresden seit 2005 jährlich stattfindende Aktion “Weiße Rose” am 13. Februar. Heike Berl versteht ihre künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Motiv der Rose als Frage nach dem Wohin, als einen bildnerischen Beitrag für menschliche Werte.
